how to delete a mailbox in exchange 2007 that the user associate it has been deleted from AD first? If the user got delete first, you can delete it from exchange console. You will get error: the operation could not be performed because the object .. could not be found in hte domain controller. Thank you if you know any way to work around.

Right click on the mail store, run the cleanup, and wait for the mailbox to get a red "X" icon on it (may need to refresh), then try to delete it.

The mailbox will get deleted by itself after the retention period that is set on the Mailbox database is over.If you want to delete it manually , try this 1. Run the clean-mailboxdatabase command against the database Clean-mailboxdatabase "database name" 2. The mailbox will show under Recipent Configuration > Disconnected Mailbox3. From the Exchange Command Shell, execute Get-MailboxStatistics | where-object { $_.DisconnectDate -ne $null } | Select DisplayName,MailboxGuid Obtain the mailbox guid 4. To delete it Remove-Mailbox -Database <Database-Name> -StoreMailboxIdentity <MailboxGuid> -confirm:$false ref:http://www.mcpblog.net/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=38
