how to bypass the size limitation when attaching a file

Hi,

I have put MaximumAttachmentSize=0 in the registry to bypass the first limitation of size.but if I try to attach a file of 2,2 Go i have again the message that it is bigger that the maximum size allowed by the server.

So I have tryed to put values in the property of store PR_MAX_SUBMIT_MESSAGE_SIZE and PR_PROHIBIT_SEND_QUOTA but I get always the warning message ....I use outlook 2013

no we have a googlemail enterprise account in our company.I have looked at the preferences of my gmail account but I haven't found something to modify the size.I can attach a 1,7 Go file but not a 2,2 Go file. (with the 32 bits version of Outlook because I will try with the 64 bits version too, because  I must do a 64 bits version too of my addin)

Sorry, I don't have experience with that type of email account but I'll guess that the attachment size limitations are controlled by the gmail server, not the Outlook client.

so if I want to attach bigger files than 2,2 Go ,  I must do something in the UI of Outlook(in my new tab) to attach files to mails without using the button of microsoft...

No, what I meant was that the limitations may be enforced by gmail. As I said, I'm only guessing.

I have understand what you said, but I wanted to mean that to bypass this limitation, I can do my own button in my tab to attach files without controlling the size on the server as do microsoft. ////

I don't know if what you suggest will work or not.  Perhaps you can you verify the attachment size limitation for your gmail enterprise account  with Google or someone else in your company.

I have seen on google that the attachment size limit on gmail  is 25 Mb.but I can attach a 1,7 Gb file in outlook 32 bits.so I think it is not the mail server.

so  I think it is perhaps because I use the 32 bits version of outlook.I will install the 64 bits version of outlook and try it again and I will say you if it is ok with the 64 bits version of outlook.

Thank you for letting us know what you find out.  I'm curious if after you attached a 1.7 GB item to a message if you were actually able to send it using the google enterprise account.

No I cannot send it with the 32 bits version of my addin(I cannot send more than 950 Mo with the 32 bits version) but as I have installed the 64 bits version and monday I will test perhaps the 1,7 Gb.We have a website that let to send big files over the internet (up to 10 Gb) (www.wesend.com).before the addin, I have done a desktop software  that do the same thing but it is not already published because not finished, and I don't send up to 10 Gb with it now.And now, I have made the part of the addin to send files like the website, and the software but there is still parts like the UI and bypassing this limitation to do ....

Hi,

Based on my knowledge, the attachment size limit is controlled by the key "MaximumAttachmentSize" for internet accounts, which you may have known from this kb:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2813269

As you mentioned, you seem to be using an add-in to add the attachment, may I know what add-in it is? How does it work?
