Thank you for your question.

If we have configured autodiscovery correctly, outlook will connect Exchange CAS server by autodiscovery, autodiscovery will direct outlook to connect correct CAS server by users mailbox location. For Example, if the user mailbox located on Exchange 2010, outlook will connect Exchange 2010 CAS. if the user mailbox located on Exchange 2013, outlook will connect Exchange 2013 CAS.  We could refer to the following link:
