how long should a broadcast message be processed?
Exchange 2007 SP2, about 700 mailboxes Sending an email to everyone in my mail server, how long should the server process it before the email is actually delivered to everyone? I'm using the "administrator" account to send the email from. it's more than 30 minutes already and upon doing a message tracking, the email has been submitted with an event of "RECEIVE" and "SUBMIT".

The event ID Receive indicates the emails have been sent. you can always check the message queues to see if the emails are stuck, Get-TransportServer | Get-Queue

If it's over 30 mins you have a problem should be no more than a few mins unless you have really bad bottleneck. Check the queues as mentioned.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

found the problem. apparently the account "Administrator" is not allowed to send an email to the whole company. funny thing is there should have been a "message denied" or "message rejected" error message but none was returned. just silence. so i resend the email again and this time i included the admin account in the allow list. worked.
