Your best option is to use a 3rd party tool for the coexistence to eliminate this issue. BinaryTree and Quest both make excellent tools to eliminate the Calendar issues between Notes and Exchange.ThanksWillWill Shepherd - MCSE/MCITP/MCTS (Windows 2008,Exchange 2007,OCS 2007)

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21102862 Explains pretty nicely what is causing the issue. Notes client should send invitations to internet addresses in iCalendar format. But if the notes clients location file is not correctly set up the client send the incitation as normal lotus notes invitation and this cannot be opened in Outlook. A Notes meeting invitation is sent in an iCalendar format whenever a message is sent over SMTP if Notes and Domino are version 6.x or higher. In general, your Notes client always creates iCalendar whenever a invitation is sent to an internet address. However, if the notes client Location document is set to "through Domino Server" and "Notes Rich Text Format" (Not the default), then iCalendar conversion will happen on the server and not on your client. With this configuration, messages sent to internet addresses on your Domino server will not ever be converted to iCalendar.
