hotmail....arggg
Hey guys need some help.. I have been trying to figure this out all day. I have an edge server, I have forward and reverse records that resolve back correctly. If I try to send an email out to anyone else like gmail/earthlink it goes through fine. If I try to send to hotmail via telnet session from the edge server and do helo or ehlo myserver.domain.com it resolves back to the correct IP. Their server accepts the message and "queues it for delivery" but I never receive the message. If I have another system use the edge server as a relay and have system generated emails destined to my hotmail account, I will get 2 messages then miss one, then I will get 2 more then miss one. I would really like to solve this without setting up an spf record (one more thing to remember). If I do a telnet session to the edge server and send a mail message to hotmail, the edge server queues it for delivery. If I look at the message tracking logs on the edge server, I see 250 me@hotmail.com Any ideas?? Thanks! Mike

If the SMTP log file on the edg server shows the e-mail was acceptedby HotMail for delivery there's nothing you can do about the messagenot being delivered to your mailbox. You'll have to work with theHotMail folk to find out where it went after they said they'd deliverit.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
