have email delivered to an external account
hi, is it possible to have exchange routing email from its server to an external server? example: joe@jane.com works at home the company server downloads all "@jane.com" email from the internethost. now inside the company someone emails joe, this email will always stay inside the exchange server as the adress is @jane aswell. id like to make an exclude for the adress " joe@jane.com" and have this redirected onto the WWW so it will be delivered @ joe's account at the internethost. i know joe could use eighter webmail though he prefers this way. thnx

Hi Rostie, It is difficult to stop forwarding per user basis, however here is the workaround. If you disable the auto-forwarding to internet as per KB article below the users who are using outlook rule to forward mails, those will be stopped.. XCON: User Interface to Suppress Automatic Forwarding to the Internet http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247122/ Now a scenario comes into picture, if some users want to forward mails to internet then the only way is to create a contact in AD with external email address and set the forwarding for that user in the user account properties to the created contact. This method doesnt require to enable the auto forwarding enabled which we disabled as per above KB and administrator can control forwarding.
