get list of IMAP and POP users
Hello, I am running an Exchange 2003 server, with IMAP and POP authentication diagnostics logging enabled on the front end. I need to generate a list of all the users accessing their mailboxes via IMAP and POP so I can get an idea of how many users are using these protocols, and so I can notify them of an upcoming configuration change. Is there a tool, feature, or any other way that I can either get this data from the event viewer or straight from exchange front end or back end server somehow?

You could enable protocol logging: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=299778 Not the best solution, but there isnt the same level of logging in 2003 as in later versions.

Adding to that, you may have to setup some kind of a script on the servers hosting imap and pop3 , to query eventviewer every 5 mins or so and report and events pretaining to the access of imap and pop and then send them over to you in an email or dump them in a txt file somewhere. thanks ThiyaguThiyagu | MCTS/MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE 2003[Messaging] | http://www.myExchangeWorld.com. Hi czaluzec, If you are using Exchange 2003, you can go to Protocols->POP3->Default POP3 virtual server-> current sessions.Frank Wang
