get-storagegroupcopystatus failed after reseeding

can't seem to find related information on the error.

What does below eventlog mean? after a successful reseed from either command line or GUI and get-storagegroupcopystatus shows failed.

Microsoft.Exchange.Cluster.ReplayService (2400) Recovery E00 E2K7CCR\First Storage Group: Unable to read the header of logfile C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group\E000000051F.log. Error -546.

Hi,

From the error message, it seems that the log file in question is corrupt. I recommend you run the Eseutil /ML to check if there is corruption.

If it is a corrupted log file, you can use the Eseutil /R to repair.

Here is an article about how to run Eseutil /M (File Dump) for your reference.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Belinda

The forum for older versions of Exchange is http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=exchangesvravailabilityandisasterrecoverylegacy

If it's just the log file that's corrupt, you can dismount the database in the Storage Group, remount it, and then delete log file 51F, and all log files older than it, and reseed the passive.

Thanks and I tried suggested, removed older ogs from active and ressed - does not seem to seed to passive node.  removed the older files from passive and reseed, I would get the same error again.  would this be a permission related issue?

Is it the same error, but with a higher log number?

I am actually trying to test to move our exchange ccr environment to new hardware (will upgrade after that).

initially my installation went fine and after install, I was able to replicate.  the problem happens only after I moved the passive node to another hardware, installation went fine, it is just now having this issue.

question1:  what if I were to re install my ccr environment, can I use the same name?  anywhere else for example on AD I may have to clean up before the reinstall?  any specific procedure/order I need to follow?

question 2: can I just uninstall and reinstall the passive node as it is the one that has the issue.  however, I tried this on a different hardware and had the replication issue, am I missing anything?

Any other suggestion is appreciated...

Is the OS version the same?
