forwarding received mail, from external source, to distribution list in public contact folder
I have a distribution list in a public folder (it's members are changing frequently). I want to be able to receive mail, and forward it to that distribution goup/list. I am not able to select this list as a forward address. Upon selecting the list, exchange tell's me it is a personal distribution list. I can convert the list to the individual addresses, but loose the flexibility of being able to change the list. Is there a way to get this done?

You are correct. Exchange cannot forward mail to contacts/lists in public folders anymore than it can your internal address book. What you need to do is create contacts for all of the users in the list and then put the list in an AD based distribution list. You can then forward to that DL. Additionally you can assign the group a "manager" and that manager can control membership, however wont be able to creat new contact objects to populate the group with. :( this is one of the few simple things Exchange just cant do. you might be better off defining a contact as group@whatever.com and then using a 3rd party software to maintain the text-based list of recipients.
