exhange server 2003 data extraction
I running windows 2003 server OS with exchange server 2003 installed as well. I also have a second hard drive (local disk F) that is not mirrored to the C drive. F drive has the original exchange server files on it as it was the "original" C drive before the "server failure" a few months ago. F Drive's exchange server files contains data for 14 users of exchange. Is there a way to extract one user's contacts from the raw data files on the F drive? Thanks for any help, CaliKevin

Are the Exchange Databases you want to extract data from ONLINE or OFFLINE, i.e. STATIC COPIES? IF ONLINE: use ExMerge, DOWNLOAD: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=429163ec-dcdf-47dc-96da-1c12d67327d5&displaylang=en Good Article http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/ExMerge-Recover-Mailbox.html IF OFFLINE: you can use Recovery Storage Groups http://www.outlookexchange.com/articles/HenrikWalther/RSG.asp Or a 3rd party product take a look at Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp since can Open, Repair, and then Browse, Search, Export Mailboxes, or an items to PST, XML and MSG from offline EDBs for Exchange 2010, 2007, 2003, 200 and 5.5 and even Recover data directly into another production Exchange server (Even cross version) Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com

Hi Troy, They are just "static copies" representing the data from two months ago. They are not in a backup file just what the original hard drive had at that time. They are not "on-line". What I need to do is to see if it's possible to extract one users contacts from the static copies. CaliKevin
