exchange server 2007 size limit
i have an exchange 2007 standard server(build 83.0836). That has two storage groups. One of the storage groups is approx 170gb in size. I have read that the size limit for exchange 2007 standard was 50b. I went to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\<SERVER NAME>\Private-<database GUID and located both private guid folders listed and neither has a limit value specified. Is there another way the exchange db's can be increased beside the registry.

Hello, If there is not specified size limit in the registry key, then the Database default of 50 Gb. is in effect. What you need to do is create a registry value with a specified limit in Gb then stop and restart the information store. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232092(v=exchg.80).aspx So basically, go top that registry key, right click and select New DWORD and type Database Size Limit in GB. Then select the value to be 60, 80, 100 or whatever size limit you want to specify. After you restart the server or information store, the new database limit will be in effect. If you look at the event id 1216 in the Application Log you will see that. ***************** Btw, questions about Exchange 2007 should be asked in: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/exchangeserverlegacy Martina Miskovic

Hi there, Did you receive any error message about the store limit? The default size for Standard in RTM is 50 GB, and in SP1 is 250 GB. Enterprise defaults to the max (16000 GB). Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
