exchange server - can send emails from outlook, but cannot receive any emails: The error that the other server returned was: 553 553 5.3.0
Hi there We have been using Exchange Server for a while and for all users emails work fine. When we added 2 new users the problem started - they are able to send email from Outlook to anywhere externally, but the emails cannot be send to them. When sending from Gmail we got the message: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 553 553 5.3.0 <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>... Address does not exist (state 14). Any idea what would help the solve that annoying issue?

Did you check your Receive connection logs and your Message tracking to see what actually happens to this message? I assume you checked the addresses to make sure they do in fact exist. How is your email system connected to the internet? Do you have static IPs you are sending through?

The addresses do exist, they were created through users and pop3 connector; I have used the same settings as for the other email addresses that work. Emails work through Microsoft Exchange Server (this is how much I know). I have no idea how to check receive connection logs and message tracking, as I have no clue about Exchange Server, although I was able to find from EVENT VIEWER this message: "The downloading process for mailbox [email address here] was ended with one or more errors". I don't its much relevant to the problem though. I forgot to mention that addresses were created by tech guy and he assumed that they work, until I got the message back from my personal account about the error. Strangely I could send emails to anyone fine. Then I went through all the settings (just checking) and everything was set up as for the other working email accounts. I've got the feeling I am missing something trivial. Lukas

Have you verified that the two new addresses are accepted by whatever e-mail service you're using that the POP connectors fetches the mail from? You should also move your question to another group -- probably SBS. There's no POP connector that's part of Exchange. The "553 5.3.0" isn't what Exchange sends when the address doesn't exist. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

hi, If you use owa, do the issue still occur? Other users also use the pop3 connector to connect your exchange or not? About message tracking log you can see this link:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124375.aspx Any update? Please remember to mark as answer. thanks, CastinLu TechNet Community Support
