exchange server
My office recently upgraded our server 2000 box with a new box running server 2008. I am looking into turning the old windows 2000 server into a web and email server. i have tried to promote the 2000 server as a child domain server of the server 2008 but what I am getting is that is not compatible with server 2008. Is there any patch or such to make this possible? would it even work if i install exchange onto the server 2000 machine? what should I do. Thanks!

Assuming you are reffering to windows 2000. Exchange 2010 will not run on 2000, you need windows 2008 sp2 or R2.

Yes I agree with you LMurthy. Exchange 2010 is supported only on Windows 2008 SP2 and R2. Also, if you looking for active directory, Exchange 2010 can only communicate with at least windows 2003 SP2 domain controller. Best regardsBest Regards Don't forget to mark it as answer if it helps
