Hi, I've just setup a new domain with ad dns etc. I have only one server so it 's a dc.+ ms exchange 2003 My question is: my dns internal domain is set as "contoso.com." my registered mx domain is set up as "mycontoso.com". Do my two domains have to match in order to receive mail on this server or can i choose any internat domain names such as "toto.local" and still receive emails if my ruc is set up to "mycontoso.com". Basically is it mandatory that internal and external domain names match. Thx in advance for any contribution.

In recipient policy configure mycontoso.com SMTP domain. Mark following checkbox "This Exchange Organization is responsible for allmail delivery for this domain."
