exchange cache inside active directory
hi i have 2 DC in the same forest, and one of the DC has exchange 2003 installed, and last week the the DC with exchange 2003 has broken down with hardware failure, and without any backup at all, and we bought new server and promo as secondary DC, and install exchange 2003, and i found a problem, some exchange cache seem remain in the active directory, when i install exchange 2003 it recognized as member exchange, any solution to get rid of the exchange cache inside active directory ? thx keith

Please install support tools and run ADSI Edit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396/en-usTo resolve this problem, follow these steps: Start ADSI Edit. If it is required, under the Computer area, click Default (Domain or Server that you logged in to) to connect to the domain controller, and then click OK. In the navigation pane, expand the following items:CN=ConfigurationDC=<var>Domain_Name</var>DC=comCN=ServicesCN=Microsoft Exchange Right-click the CN=<var>Organization_Name</var> object, and then click Delete. Click Yes in every adsiedit dialog box that prompts you to confirm the deletion. Right-click CN=Microsoft Exchange, and then click Properties. On the Attributes tab, under Select which properties to view, click Both. From the Select what property to view pull-down menu, select Heuristics. To reset the Heuristics property, click Clear, and then click Apply. The Value(s) field will have a value of not set. Exit ADSI Edit. hi is it to install adsiedit.msc from 2003 disc inside support folder ? after i double click the adsiedit.msc, it said MMC could not create the snap-in, anything i did wrong ? thx keith

hi i found the way to install adsiedit, but i couldnt find the below area from adsiedit, thxIf it is required, under the Computer area, click Default (Domain or Server that you logged in to) to connect to the domain controller, and then click OK. keith

To reset the Heuristics property, click Clear, and then click Apply. The Value(s) field will have a value of not set. keith
