exchange 2007 send as not work correctly for some users.
I have one server with windows 2003 R2 X64 with SP2 and all windows updates, this server have exchange 2007 with sp3. The problem that I have in this server are permissions errors when I assign the permissions SEND AD and SEND ON BEHALF to some users, I have assigned this permissions for a lot of them and only for some users not work correctly, the outlook say that they has not permissions. For these users I have assigned the send on behalf, send as and full mailbox access but I follow with this permissions error, I enable the Auditing in the Manage Diagnostic Logging Properties but never appear for these errors, when the send or send on behalf work correctly and for some test, in the Exchange Auditing the logs appear but for the rest of them nothing appear that help me to fix this problem. I have that some users have one principal mailbox that they have configured in the Outlook and after they use the SHOW FROM and send mail on behalf other mailbox, they must use this method. I try apply permissions using the EMC and the Shell directly but the result is the same, the user have not permissions. Please I wait your comments. Best Regards, Roque Catanese.-

SEND AS and SEND ON Behalf permissions should not both be applied to a single account. You should chose what functionaility you desire and apply either SEND AS only or SEND on BEHALF only - but not both. ALso note that SEND AS Permissions will not work if an account is a member of an elevated group ( Administrators etc..) because security inheritance will be disabled for those account.

Hi Roque, I suggest you should confirm the entries outlined below: · Which permission you will delegate for the specific mailbox, Send As or Send on Behalf? Please pay attention to these two methods cannot be granted at the same time. · Please ensure whether you are granting the Send As or Send on Behalf after you have granted the Full Access permission. It will be concerned invalid because user with Full Access permission to a mailbox cannot send messages as that mailbox. · Make sure the user you want to grant Send As permission is not the member of a protected group, such as Administrators, Domain Admins, Schema Admins or Enterprise Admins. And the krbtgt is also considered protected. Here are some documents for you having a further view in mailbox permission: Understanding Mailbox Permission http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123879.aspx Exchange 2007 Permission: Frequently Asked Questions http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb310792(EXCHG.80).aspx Hope helpful. If you have any other question, please feel free let me know. Best regards, Yang

I confirm that the user have only SEND AS permission and the SEND ON BEHALF is not configured. I too confirm that all users are only DOMAIN USERS and not are Administrators. I have a lot of users and this behavior are only for the new users, for the old accounts was work correctly. I wait your response and help. Best Regards, Roque.
