exchange 2007
I am running exchange 2007. I have users trying to email a company and they are getting the error: You do not have permission to send to this recipient. The domain that they are trying to email just recently changed from having internal mail to outsourcing their mail. I do not have any restrictions set up for users on outgoing mail. Please help. Here is the full NDR: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: test Sent: 10/30/2009 2:57 PM The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: 'Sukumar' on 10/30/2009 2:57 PM 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

Hi,Can you send emails to other domains fine?is this happening to one domain only? After they have out sourced , this has started happening , so earlier this was working fine?If answer is yes for all the three questions, kindly ask the recipient domain, to allow your emails inside. Also check for the server which is generating those NDR's.Raj

From the NDR gets back you should have a server that is generating the NDR. Is it your server issuing the SMTP unable to relay response or is it an external server that is causing your serverto generate the NDR? Message tracking / protocol logging can help you track down what IP address is issuing the SMTP response and why Also have users try sending email via OWA and test Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: 'Sukumar' on 10/30/2009 2:57 PM 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay Here is one possible explanation. The outsourcing company might have done a configuration error:By default, your new Exchange 2007 servers will only accept email destined to the Windows domain that the server was a member of. In order to accept email destined to your external SMTP domain, you will probably need to create a new accepted domain. This is done in the Exchange Management Console under Organization Configuration -> Hub Transport, then select Accepted Domains. If you fail to perform this step, people who send email directly to you will probably get an NDR with the error "550 5.7.1 Unable to relay."
