exchange 2003 (small bisunes server) and direct push activesync with iphone 2.0
Hello.I've spent lots of time for setting it up without anu success. Email and contacts updates in about 10 minutes (not realy push, ya?) on one of two iphones, calendar doesn't seem to be updated when calendar.app is not running. No updates on the second with just the same settings.I even don't know where to look at. I've found lots of discussions on the internet, they are mostly about 2007 exchange, and even if they are about 2003 it is sometimes impossible to finde some system dialogs and settings. So what are the basic settings? What should be done and how could it be checked?

Hi, First please help us clarify the following questions: Do you have Windows Mobile powered device? If you have, can it sync properly? Have you tried access OWA via Safari? Does that work? Regarding how to set Activesync settings in iphone, you can refer to the following article. http://support.apple.com/manuals/en_US/Enterprise_Deployment_Guide.pdf Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. If you encountered any issue when trying this, you may need to contact Apple for this problem. First of all, thank you for fast replay =)Unfortunately, we do not have any ppc devices. I've read everything I could found on Microsoft tech according to activesync, SBSMobile5.doc was the most useful. But everything I could have found in tutorials is that simple that has already been checked for several times. Everything about an iphone on the apple site is looked through too.I can access to the the server on https://mail.mydomain.com and on https://mail.mydomain.com/oma from safari on the iphone but it warns about the wrong certificate (as does an exchange account on creation).I tried to export the mail.mydomain.com certificate and to install it to iphone but warnings didn't seem to disappear.I have problems on both iphones now, it'll easier to debug. So when I set up a new exchange account everything works fine. I've found out that direct push doesn't seem to work just immediately, so 5-10 minutes are ok. Contacts and mail pushes and calendar pushes too but only when the app is launched (why, I wonder?).I've found the way to monitor active sync server activity with the "performance" monitor. So after I set up an account I could see https "ping" activity every 30 seconds, also "current user activity" and "client sync items/sec" are monitored. But when I disconnect my iphone from wi-fi and switch the edge push stops working. I can still see ping and user activity in the same style, but no sync activity on the diagram and no push on the iphone. Reconnecting back to wi-fi doesn't help.As it's said on the apple's cite I've tried recreating account, it helps. Reboot helps spontaneously, Turning push off and on takes no effect. If I open the calendar app, mail (I think contacts too) appears on the device, but it doesn't seem to be a push technology.Probably I should have a look on the https "ping" packets with the help of some sniffer, I'll think about it.Exchange 2003 version is 6.5.7638.1(2) SP2.I did NOT installed the Exchange Server ActiveSync Web,I do NOT have a flag "front-end" in the server's options.I wonder if iphone uses MSFP as wm5 does.
