exchange 2003, Accept mail only from contacts
Hi, Windows 2003, Exchange 2003. I would like the AD users to be able to receive mail only from their contacts or from a public folder contact list. I tried using Delivery Restrictions, but no luck Thanks George Orfanidis

You can't set a mailbox to only accept messages from the contact list in that mailbox. You can, as you saw, set Delivery Restrictions but that looks at Active Directory for its information. What is your approved business case for this so that we can understand a little better your needs. "gorfan" wrote in message news:6f773353-ca0c-414b-9f8f-457dc6530fab... The case is that, all the users (apart from one account) should not be able to receive mail from someone that is not listed in their contact list. To reduce the amount of spam email. George Orfanidis

Create a distribution group with everyone, including contact, in it and add that to the "accept messages from" field. Is that the only reason this is for though, spam reduction? To reduce the amount of spam email. I suppose you could use the Outlook Junk E-mail filter for that. Try adding *.* to the blocked senders and also check the box that says to trust e-mail contacts. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, To use Delivery Restirctions, you need to sync all the Contacts of the client side into the Server side. Compared with this, Outlook Junk-Email folder is a best practice. Thanks Allen
