In the past, I used ccleaner to cleanup my PC from time to time, without any problem. However, after using it lately, my excel shortcuts are not working anymore. This is what happens:

1. When I rightclick on the pinned excel icon on my task bar and I select a document , a first excel window opens, followed by a second excel window and I get a message "an error has occured while sending a command to the program" followed by a second message saying something like "The element you have selected is not available. Do you want to remove it from the short cut list?". Howeber, when I verify where that shortlink points to, it seems to point to the right location.

2. When I click on any xlsx file in my file manager, an excel window opens, and the same message appears "an error has occured while sending a command to the program"

3.When I open excel and I click on "Open" followed by a selection of a document in the recent documents list, it works ok.

I only have this problem with Excel shortcuts (not Word etc.)

What's going on? And how to repair it?
