excel 2013 right click - insert column doesn't work anymore (greyed out)

Hi

Haven't found an answer to this one yet:

As per yesterday, the right click functionality in Excel 2013 (prof. plus) doesn't work properly anymore. The Options "insert" and "delete" are constantly greyed out, no matter if it's an existing or a new workbook. My colleague actually has the same issue.

I tried to repair, disabled Add-ins, even made a complete new install.

The strange thing is: When going to the ribbon -> home -> cells, the insert/delete columns (or rows) function still works...

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Hi

Check the folowing methods to see if it helps:

Go to Advanced Options and ticking "Ignore other applications that use DDE".

Go to regedit and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office|14.0\Excel\Options(Remeber to backup before you modify the registry)

I had the same problem today.
I found below solution in the web and it is working.

You simply need to close Excel, then navigate to "%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel" in Windows explorer and rename Excel15.xlb to Excel15.old, and finally restart Excel and the problem should be fixed

Hi - It works for me as well with the solution you suggested. i.e., renaming Excel15.xlb to Excel15.old. Thanks.
