ex2007 Distribution Group - Message restrictions?
Hello, I´ve got a problem. We´ve activated the message restrictions on some big distribution groups, to accept messages only from specifig users/groups. I´ve created a new group with all the allower senders in our organization( mostly other groups). When now someone send a mail to one of the distribution groups, he recieve a failure message: #550 5.7.1 RESOLVER.RST.NotAuthorized; not authorized ## The sender is a member of a group within the allowed sender group. Is there a roblem with groups within a group? I hope you could help me. We´ve got Exchange2007 in our activedirectory Thanks cu ottl05

How long did you leave it before testing? It can take Exchange up to 2 hours to pick up permissions changes such as these. Neill

Hi, Did you seleted "require that all senders are authenticated" for the Districution group? If not, u need to go to districution group properties and slect the 'mail flow settings' tab and then select message deliver restriction properties and uncheck the box "require that all senders are authenticated" to fix your problem Regards from www.windowsadmin.info

Hi ottl05, Any updates on your issue? If you just add the sender to the allowed list, can the sender send mails to the group?Frank Wang

All users in the allowed list or just some? If just some users, make sure that the allowed group has mail or mailbox enabled users. Sometimes users create users or contacts and put the email in the email field but this does not actually mail enable them which would cause the not authorized NDR.
