After that, the error is not appearing anymore. someone also do this fix: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchange2010/thread/0dd43399-d1e2-41a1-956e-f316459fb271 My question is, is enabling anonymous as suggested is the right thing to do? Or is there something else that causing this error? thank you!Andrew P.

ah, sorry, that's a typo over there. it should say: according to the BOLDED text above, we need to enable ANONYMOUS in IIS, which we did. to be honest, I'm not the one who did this but I assume this has been done as we restarted the server as well after make several other changes. so ... is it safe? or there's a proper way to handle the error?Andrew P.

My question is, is enabling anonymous as suggested is the right thing to do? Or is there something else that causing this error? Hi Andrew, The Anonymous authentication is one of default settings for Autodiscover VD. Details, please see: Default settings for Exchange-related virtual directories in Exchange Server 2010 http://blogs.technet.com/b/jribeiro/archive/2010/09/27/default-settings-for-exchange-related-virtual-directories-in-exchange-server-2010.aspxPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. sorry, that still doesn't answer my question. yes, enabling anon fixes the issue BUT what's causing it in the first place? if that's the default settings, what changed it?Andrew P.
