enabled autoarchive with Outlook2007 in exchange server 2007 environment
We have enabled autoarchive in outlook2007 connected to exchange server 2007. I know if the workstation hard drivecrash and workstation is rebuilt, it will pull the mailbox data from the exchange server. we regularly backup exchnage server backup. I have 2 questions 1. What about archive folder? Is it saved in the exchange server or it is lost when hard drives crash. 2. When is streaming backup(VSS) plug in is expected for exchange server 2007 in windows server 2008. Thx

The auto archieve feature in Outlook automatically archive your data to a file called Archive.pst. Outlook places your oldest data into this file. Since this file is locally stored on the computer, so if the computer or hard drive crashes then this file is also lost. You might considering the option to take backup of the PST from the local computer to a network drive, if you want to save the auto archieve file. Check the below link for more info about the VSS Plugin. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/06/18/449031.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124515.aspx
