email search in the whole post office or data store
I am using Exchange 2003 on windows 2003 standard server. I have one Exchange server with three storage groups. I need to do the search within the body of the messages with certain criteria on all email boxes at once. I do not need to search messages that were received or send past 30 days. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you Sofya_L

Exmerge. http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/podcasts/MF013.html " One question that seems to come up a lot is “How can I delete a message from all the users mailboxes”, this question gets asked for many reasons, such as someone sent an email to the wrong group of people, you know that a message is in your system that contains an attachments that you do not want your users opening, you can probably think of a few more reasons. Xmerge can not search within the body of the message, it only searches on the attachment, message title and by date. I have to search on the body of the message. Please adwise. Thank you Sofya_L

You may wish to use a 3rd product at this point. I've used Digiscope and been happy with its effectiveness: http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Sofya as Mike says DigiScope can do what you need and here is a link that will tell you more about the search/discovery capabilities http://www.lucid8.com/download/documentation/DSWebHelp/MNG/Find_Searching_eDiscovery_Overview.htm which is fairly easy to use and if you are an advanced user DigiScope also supports Regular Expressions aka RegEx Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com

Sure you can look at Quest Recovery Manager for Exchange, as well as Kroll Ontrack Power Controls as well as Lucid8s DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com
