e2k7 rollup 5: configure mailbox to receive NDRs for external senders
what do I need to do to configure a mailbox to receive NDRs generated for external senders by our e2k7 system? I already have internal NDRs forwarded to the postmaster account as per: Get-OrganizationConfig (MicrosoftExchangeRecipientReplyRecipient : domain.com/.../Users/Postmaster) I've used the following from (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb400930.aspx) to set something called externalpostmaster address, but I do not see any NDRs in there for external senders:Get-TransportServer | Set-TransportServer -ExternalPostmasterAddress postmaster@domain2.com few details for our infrastructure:domain: domain1.come2k7 rollup 5 CCR and SCR running on w2k8 sp1 (both fully patched)

Hi,I have performed the steps according the article and I am able to receive the NDR for external senders. At this time, I suggest you attempt the following method to test the issue: Step 1: Add 5.1.1 into monitored DSN code: ============================== 1. Open the Exchange Management Console. 2. In the console tree, click Organization Configuration, and then click Hub Transport. 3. In the result pane, click the Global Settings tab. 4. In the action pane, click the Properties link that is directly under Transport Settings. 5. Click the Message Delivery tab. In the DSN area, add 5.1.1 code Step 2: On the Hub Transport to test the issue =================================== 1. Enable Anonymous users group on a receive connector on a hub server temporarily: Note: After testing the issue, I suggest you disable Anonymous users group on the receive connector if it used to receive internal email 2. Telnet to the Receive Connector and send a test email like below: Helo Mail from: a@a.com Rcpt to: b@yourdomain.com Note: Please provide a non-exist user in Rcpt to. The yourdomain.com should be your SMTP Authorized Domain Data It is a test email . Quit 3. Please check the Queue to ensure NDR message is generated 4. If the NDR message is generated, please check the postmaster mailbox whether the NDR message is received. In addition, please let me know whether the Edge server is deployed in the environment or the Hub server is used to receive Internet email directly. Mike

Hi, I have reviewed your post again. I would also like to know whether both domain1.com and domain2.com are your accepted domain.Mike
