e-mail sent file
I have clients that create a e-mail on thier desktop and of course this email goes to the sent file when it is sent to the recipient. The client then waits for a reply from the recipient and none comes. My client then calls the recipient of the sent e-mail and the recipient says he never recieved the e-mail. my client then looks into his sent mail on his laptop but cannot find the sent e-mail he remembers he sent the e-mail from his desktop. Since he is on a trip now with his laprop he cannot prove to the recipient that he sent the e-mail. Can I sink the sent file from my desktops to the laptops so this client can have all of the e-mails sent from one to the other at all times. Thank you tf116

Hi, Please check that the sent emails are not stuck into the drafts folder or outbox folder of your client.

1. is he using cached mode? 2. was he disconnected mode when he sent the email? 3. you can check his mailbox and check the sent items. 4. as bpara mentioned, you can do a message tracking and see if it is sent, this will be good way of making sure it is sent. thanks ThiyaguThiyagu | MCTS/MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE 2003[Messaging] | http://www.myExchangeWorld.com. Hello tf116, yes, you can sync outlook between laptop and desktop. Are you connecting to Exchange or are you using POP3? The way I like to do it is to use either outlook anywhere ore use outlook via a VPN connection so that remote users can access Exchange when they are traveling. They will see on their laptops exactly what they see on the desktops. The two outlooks will be "synchronized" because desktop and laptop outlook clients will be viewed directly from the Exchnage DB store. p.s. If you have Outlook Web access you can also view Exchnage folders (including sent items) using a Web browser. CheersMiguel Fra / Falcon ITS Computer & Network Support, Miami, FL Visit our Knowledgebase Sharepoint Site

Hi tf116, For this issue, I want to clarify the following information before we go further: 1. Is your client using Exchange Server and Outlook? 2. What Profile type does your client use on his desktop. If your client use Exchange Server and Outlook, you can ask he use message tracking to see whether the email have sent to the recipient or not. a. If you use message tracking cannot find the email information, you should ask your client to find the email from his desktop. b. If you use message tracking can find the email information, you can ask your client use OWA to get the email form Sent Items box. You can follow this document to use message tracking: If you are using Exchange 2003, you can refer to this document: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-2003-Message-Tracking-Logging.html If you are use Exchange 2007, you can follow this document: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997984(EXCHG.80).aspx If anything is unclear, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I will be glad to help.
