domain.lan with domain.com email - BAD?
Dear all. I have a Win2003 forrest running one domain at Win2003 level. When created it appeared the best method was to create a .lan domain so we have xyzdom.lan as our Win2003 network. Now we want to install E2k10 but with the default mail domain as xyzdom.com Is this possible? Should I try and avoid it? Want are the draw backs and will it work? We have public Web Sites on the xyzdom.com which was one of the reason's they decided to go with the .lan idea. Thanks Worried Rob

There's nothing wrong with a .lan suffix to your domain (Apple screwed up the iPhone with .local but .lan, .priv etc etc is ok) There's no need to change anything. Your SMTP domain is not linked to your AD domain name. I would say that the drawbacks are that when you buy your certificate you're going to have one with a lot of names. That's hardly a problem so long as you know about it and manage accordingly. "RobhUK" wrote in message news:c823bb89-de10-475e-bbb6-bf2158fc1c41... Dear all.
