disconnected mailboxes don't immediately appear in EMC/EMS
Hi All, When I disable a user mailbox the Exchange properties are removed from the AD object, leaving a disconnected mailbox in Exchange. But this mailbox only appears in the "disconnected Mailbox" node after a long time (hours or day(s)). Also when I use the cmdlet:Get-MailboxStatistics -Server <servername> | where { $_.DisconnectDate -ne $null } | select DisplayName,DisconnectDateI get no results.I think this might be caused by replication of AD, replication in Exchange or some maintenance schedule. Can anyone help me which settings cause these disconnected mailboxes not to appear in the "disconnected mailbox" node in EMC immendiately or soon after disabling the mailbox? I want to be able to reconnect the mailbox immediately after disabling it in case of an error. thanks for your help, daphne Vink

Hi Daphne, You need to run Clean-MailboxDatabase Database Name on the database where user's mailbox is available to get it effective immediately Cant see Deleted Mailbox in Disconnected Mailbox under RecipientConfiguration Hope this helps you....

Hi,Just an FYI, after my disconnected mailboxes disappeared I had to right click and choose connect to server and reset my default server.I had lost this apparently after setting up my disaster recovery site.Of course i didnt choose this obvious and easy fix until after I had tried to clean mailboxes etc...- Jon Backstrom
