disclaimers in outlook/exchange
where and how does the disclaimer i.e.
http://downloadsoftwarestore.com/software_images/12/67/00066712/OutlookDisclaimer-screenshot.gif
get added to an email. I dont see it when I compose a new email, but if sent externally it does get attached. Our managers have asked for reasurance that every email sent externally, i.e. to a non corporate mailbox (internal traffic) gets the disclaimer added,
there concerns being the use of OWA and smart phones to send corporate mail.
So... is there any possibility that a corporate email could not have the disclaimer added due to some misconfiguration or the use of outlook web access, smart phones etc, or anyway the user could switch it off so it doesnt appear?

Hi,
Not possible to tell where this disclaimer is added. Since you can't see it from Outlook I assume that you have a program installed somewhere that do add the disclaimer. But how and where in the process this program is adding the disclaimer only you
with access to the mail system can tell.

If the disclaimer is added by your server then all anyone has to do to
avoid it is to avoid using your server to send the e-mail. In other
words, you have no way to guaranty anything unless you control their
access to the Internet at all times and on every machine.

Hi,
By the way, what is the version of your Exchange server?
In Exchange 2010, you can use transport exceptions. If rule by conditions, actions and you don’t want to add the disclaimer
to corporate emails, you can use exceptions: except when the message is sent to people, a member of distribution list or users that are inside or outside the organization and so on.
Hope this helps.

Or any number of ISPs, or someone with their own mail server.
