Outlook Express does not have this functionality (assumming you've also emptied the deleted item's folder). Microsoft Outlook (not express) does have this feature, but only when used in conjunction with an Exchange server. it is possible your email provider still has a copy of the message; you may try logging into their site (hotmail, gmail or whoever)

you can buy some software called KERNEL FOR OUTLOOK EXPRESS. sadly I have not found it free anywhere

Can you help me retrieve all recently deleted inbox emails that were deleted on (9/26/07) In my Yahoo mail? I have already read all the emails but would like to save them anyway. Thanks Joann
