database missing
Best regards Exchange TEAM Please I could help with the following query: I have a Mailbox Server with Exchange 2010, which had a database only stored on a SAN, from one moment to another this database disappeared in a span of four minutes. I wonder if there are any log or procedure in which to look in a way more detailed source of the loss of this data base ?? Cordially,

Cordially, If the file was open and in use it wasn't removed by anything "normal". I suppose someone could have used an "unlocker" to remove the lock on the in-use file. To know who removed the file now if pretty near impossible. If you had auditing enabled then the action would have been logged. It's also possible that the SAN storeage folks could have mistakenly (one would hope) removed it. In any case, you still have the log files, so restore the missing file from your backup and get things back up and running. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hi, Does the issue only occur on certain database? Is there any clue in auditing log that indicates some remove the database? At this stage, I suggest you run ExBPA and scan the whole system to check whether there is any problem. Meanwhile, please open Event Viewer and post the error message in Application Log if there is. Cordially Carlos Having no backup means the file is gone. There's no getting it back unless you have ALL the log files from the time the database was created and the log files are all online. That would work in old releases of Exchange, but I haven't tried it in many years. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
