cross forest integration
Hello, I have 2 sepreate domains running exchange server 2007, one exchange 2007 is installed on a windows 2003 64bit OS and the other on windows server 2008 64 bit both are release one. I need these exchange servers to communicate internally and would also want to move mail boxes from one server to the other so I may remove one of the domains. I have not found any tools that will work with server 2008, can this be done?

In brief, you'll need to migrate both accounts and mailboxes from one forest to the other. There are tools you can buy for this or you can use the free ADMT that Microsoft provides for the account part, and you can use Exchange 2007's Move-Mailbox cmdlet to move mailbox content from one organization (forest) to another. You should start Binging for terms like "using ADMT" and "Exchange 2007 Inter-forest move-mailbox". Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
