creating a stub for an email
Hello, Is it possible for me to store old emails outside of exchange 2007 environment but still have a stub(pointer) for it. I have seen certain archiving products do this, that in outlook you can still see the stub of the mail. when you click it, the mail is actually fetched from the archive system. I just wonder how this is done.

I'm not sure of any advantage of stubbing outside of an archiving solution. I woudl imagine the architecture is vendor specific.

you are right but the vendors must be using exchange/outlook api... so there should be some way to do this.
