creating a contact list, but not with Public Folders
I would like to create a contact list viewable by only certain users and editable by all the viewers that have access to see it. I would like to do this without using Public Folders to do so. We are migrating from Exchange 03, to 07, and not long after 2010. It doesn't really contain any email address's, just personal infor (Name, address, etc.), more of a roladex. Does 07 and 10 offer features that may accomadate this? Is this a custom folder and not an address/contact list?mcp

As you might know, Microsoft is moving away from public folders (still supported until 2016). The replacement is to be SharePoint. Public folders still work wonderful for a lot of tasks. In your case they could have served all your needs, but SharePoint can as well. (Actually Microsoft themselves uses public folders and SharePoint for contact information, at least they did about half a year ago). To give you an idea, take a look here: Use Lists in SharePoint 2007 - Contactshttp://it.cas.psu.edu/1067.htm For more questions on this topic:SharePoint Products and Technologieshttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/sharepoint SharePoint 2010http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/sharepoint2010 Exchange 12 and Public Foldershttp://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/02/20/419994.aspxMCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist

Yes, Jon has answered the question. I don’t think that exchange has feature to accomplish this task, a shared mailbox maybe a workaround James Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
