corrupted Public folder database- repair failed!
Hello,
I was trying to restore/ merge some data from a backup tape into a folder in my public folder store, the restore failed with a communication error before completing and now I can't mount the public folder database. I ran the database repair tool in exchange 2007 management console and itstates "finished the repair action with a positive status code 595" but I still can't mount my public folder database.
At this point I'm not sure what the best action would be, I have a backup to disk from windows backup that I ran prior to the restore attempt using backup exec so I could revert to that but is it best to just delete the corrupted data store and create a new one to restore to? I tried to use the recovery storage group the first time, but backup exec couldn't find it for some reason.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Hi,
I would recommend a restore. Just mark the database to allow for overwrite by a restore and it should work without deleting the database first.

Thanks for the reply!
I am currently in the middle of running the restore hopefully it will complete successfully! I also found that I can't delete my public store even if I wanted to because it is referenced by my exchange mailbox stores. Its a tricky thing, you can't add a second public store and you can't delete the original, doesn't leave many options

the problem wasn't the restore, I needed to run the eseutil to clean up the database and play back the log files.
