Hello, Please can someone advise me if this schema is correct & outlook should work normally with exchange server without facing any problem. all the pc's are on the same ip sub-net configuration 169.254.59.xx the pc's that are running windows xp belong to the Active directory in the domain that is running the windows server 2008 the other server that is running windows server 2003 is runing the exchange server & has a distinct Active directory & domain i am facing a problem with this new structure as the pc's are not being able to connect to the exchange server. Thank you so much for the help in advance. Best regards. Share your knowledge it's one way to achieve immortality.. http://www.rabihtawil.com

The answer is YES, The server that is running the win server 2003 has a domain name EXCHDOMAIN the server that is running the win server 2008 has a domain name MAIL the pc's that are running outlook belong to the domain MAIL , They should be able to connect to the exchange server which is not happening.Share your knowledge it's one way to achieve immortality.. http://www.rabihtawil.com

ERROR: CAN NOT FIND THE EXCHANGE SERVER. the outlook auto-closes afterward. if i run cmd & ping the exchange server from a pc that is running winxp or from the winserver that is running server 2008 the ip reply is 64.42.40.41 rather then the real ip 169.254.59.1 which is weird ... another thing if i force the ip address 169.254.59.1 rather then the name of the exchange server in the mail setup rather in the control panel it accepts it but when i run outlook it doesn't work.Share your knowledge it's one way to achieve immortality.. http://www.rabihtawil.com

See below info to troubleshoot if getting event log 28You receive an "RPC is not configured properly" error message when you are using an Exchange Server e-mail account and you start Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2003::http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830914Anil
