copy the information from a mailbox set up as a resource to a public folder within Exchange 2007
Hi Experts, I have a resource mailbox that is being used as a meeting room. This mailbox was recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to exchange 2007. now, we would like copy the information from a mailbox set up as a resource to a public folder within Exchange 2007, and make it visible on Public folders How can I move all item calendars/emails from this resource mailbox into a public folder? In addition to that, there must be a heading “ALL BOOKINGS MUST XXXXXXXX” and also put a line in reading “Please email XXXX@MYCOMPANY.com for xxxx Room availability” There is also the issue with bookings made in the xxxxx room that notifies IT department and myself. How can this be adjusted so that only the appropriate requestor and Logistics person are notified.

Just out of curiosity why do you want to move away from a room resource mailbox back to using a public folder? Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. To copy the information, you can export-mailbox to a PST -- but to import the data into a Public Folder, you need to use Outlook and manually import the PST file. I'm totally not clear on where "there must be a heading".

Not sure how you're going to get both the emails and calendar items into the same folder. I believe you have to choose one or the other (IPM.post or IPM.appointment).[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Hi mjolinor, Can you be more specific? Can you please indicate all steps for export calendar and emails items?

mjolinor is talking about when you create the public folder it will ask you for the content type, which you can only choose one. Appointment or message not both in the same one. As for exporting the information out of the resource mailbox here is a good article on export-mailbox http://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/goodbye-exchange-exmerge,-hello-export-mailbox/ Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. When you set up a public folder you have to specify what kind of items it's going to receive. If it's email, you use IPM.post. If it's calendar appointments, it's IPM.appointment. I don't know how to make it do both.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

I believe all we have to do is, create a public folder from outlook, and select calendar items, and emails

I don't believe you can do that. You can only select one item type from the list. If you select calendar items, then select emails (mail and post items) then calendar items will no longer be selected.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Hi, To move the items from the resource mailbox to the mail enabled Public Folder, you have to drag the items into the Public Folder in resource mailbox side manually. It's not supported to do that by using the command. Thanks Allen
