converting mailboxes from edb to pst

Hi all,

i am looking for software to convert mailboxes into pst files.

now i have Stellar Phoenix EDB to PST converter. the problem is that the total amount of data is around 350GB.

when using stellar phoenix edb to pst converter it takes 6-7 days to complete the proces.

but then i have a full backup of any mailbox in separate PST files.

the only thing is, when starting the process again to backup the most recent data, it takes 6-7 days again, because it can't update the PST files.

is there a tool or software package that can do that and have no limitation on the PST file size.

Hi Stare

You can use the systools edb recovery software which does this job pretty easily and very quickly

Here is the output of the testing which i have done already refer below link

http://exchangequery.com/2014/04/20/systools-exchange-edb-recovery-software/

This tool is available in 2 versions as demo as well as full version. The demo version is restricted to 25 items per folder in a mailbox. The full version does  not have any restrictions in exporting the emails as well as in the size of edb files.

Note: Microsoft does not claim ownership of these materials and its third party software from systools.

We have a multi-threaded tool that may work faster then what you are seeing, however  lets step back a moment.

1. This is for Exchange 2013, correct?

2. Are you doing this via an Offline Database or from the Production Exchange server?

2.a:  If offline where is the database vs the conversation application, i.e. on the same machine, on a SAN etc?

3. How many mailboxes are we talking about within this database?

4. Where are the PST's being generated to, i.e. on same machine, LAN, SAN loca

So a couple more things;

1. Where are you loading the program from, i.e. on the server, workstation etc.  If from a workstation do you have any network bottlenecks along the way etc?

2. I don't think they are multi-threaded so that will increase the export time and I would look real close at the resulting data set because many of the lower end products are questionable when it comes to completeness and accuracy and the last thing you want to do is find out that you have bad data

3. Wherever you are doing the backup/export from I would try to write the data to a local drive that is not supporting any other application, i.e. just for writing PST data, this will increase performance.

4. The other thing to consider would be to treat this like a full/incremental backup process, i.e. do a Full backup to PST on Friday nights and then incremental for everyday thereafter and only have it export the new data.  Yes you would then have 7 PST's for each user for the week but its allot lower overhead

*** More importantly why are you exporting to PST in the first place, i.e. just as a backup method or is something else going on?  If just as a backup then why not backup the EDB and then use a 3rd party utility to export from the offline EDB's when needed?

**** If you are looking for a quality tool you should really focus on the top 3 tools in the market which are Lucid8's DigiScope, Kroll Power Controls and Quest/Dell Recovery manager for Exchange.  Of course I can give you reasons to buy Lucid8's product since Accuracy matters and our reputation is known worldwide, however IF Accuracy Matters to you (and it should) then if you take DigiScope out of the running  I would highly recommend that you go with one of the other two

thanks for your reply,

i guess i will use this method: "*** More importantly why are you exporting to PST in the first place, i.e. just as a backup method or is something else going on?  If just as a backup then why not backup the EDB and then use a 3rd party utility to export from the offline EDB's when needed?"

thanks for your fast reply's and suggestions.
