We require to create .pst's per user fromthe .edb/.stm database file on our exchange 2003 server. Is it possible to do so?Are there any MS tools that we can use to achive this or else what other option we have?

Yes, you should use ExMerge to export mailboxes to .pst files. Take a look at this article: http://www.petri.co.il/brick_level_backup_of_mailboxes_by_using_exmerge.htm Note: Export in this context means making a copy of your mail, not moving it from your mailboxes to .pst files. One of the most common problems with ExMerge are permissions. See the links at the bottom. jas

Thanks,Well, now we are in a altogether different migration scenerio. The old AD Forest/Domains structure with multiple AD domains & exchange 2003 implementaion is one big mess. The naming convention is also to be changed. The purpose of my query was to find out now, suppose if we recreate a new 2008 AD forest root domain & install Ex2007 with all the newly desired DNS name for AD.Would it be possible to now import the .pst we created in the earlier scenerio into theex2007 database?

Can these .pst be later imported into an Ex2007 database & associated with an Ex2007 user mailbox? all the activity needs to be done at the Ex2007 server?

Yes, you can import PSTs which are exported with ExMerge from Exchange 2003 server, just refer below article for further requirement of running Import-Mailbox cmdlet to import PST files into Exchange 2007 mailboxes... We are hosting a large international customer and migrating the users into a new pristine forest and Exchange organization from several forests and domains. At first we tried the .pst solution, but it turned out to be too error-prone. We changed to a move-mailbox scenario between forests and linked mailboxes, which for a lot of users already are converted to normal user mailboxes. At first we moved everything, now we do a combination of .pst and move-mailbox. My advice would be: You should strongly consider using move-mailbox (allow for a high number for corrupted items). You gain the best of two worlds: a new from the ground up designed forest with next-to-no service disruption (that is if you've done your homework and thorough testing). on-Alfred SmithMCTS: Messaging, MCSE: S+M
