connectivity issue - the connection to Microsoft Exchange is not available message when adding todo item
Here is the setup - Exchange 2010 on virtual W2k8 r2, CAS on W2k8 box. This error occurs on the same mailbox from two different client computers. One connected via local Lan using Win 7, Outlook 2010 and another via RPC/HTTP using Win7, Outlook 2007. Here's the action that creates the error - I'm connected just fine in Outlook. I can create new emails on all but one accout. I receive mail just fine. Calendar synchs up with the smartphone, etc. BUT if I click 'add TODO' item on either client, I immediately get the balloon saying that the connection to microsoft exchange is not available while at the same time, Outlook status reads 'Connected to Microsoft Exchange'. By the way, my smartphone syncs fine with the exception that any task created on the phone will not go to exchange. Please don't offer the suggestion of creating a new profile because as soon as I try to add any email account to the new profile, I get the same error. I also get it when I try to send using one of my pop3 accounts - but the others work fine. Since the problem happens with two very different clients and that this has suddenly started happening, I can eliminate clients as being the problem unless some identical think, like a Windows update happened to both clients.

I am suspecting it is caused by the mobile device. Please try in OWA to see if you are able to add new task in ToDo list. If the issue continues, create a new mailbox as Sukh suggested. If the issue only occurs in Outlook, then disable the mobile and remove all addins and try again. It will help us isloate the fault.Best Regards Fiona Liao E: v-fiolia@microsoft.com
