Is this only happening to one user out of the organization? What Outlook client and what versin of Exchange? Have you tried to repair or re-create the Outlook profile? What is the authenication settings for their Outlook profile?Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

yes it's only happening to this user. we have about 15 users piloting the office 2007 suite and he is one of them. so outlook 2007 connecting to exchange 2007. i haven't yet tried to repair/recreate the profile. security is set to 'negotiate authentication' and 'encrypt data between office and exchange' is also checked. if i enter his credentials the prompt just reappears. thanks for the responses !

Are you using AutoDiscover to create the profile or manually configuring it? Try to repair it and let autodiscover take care of the profile.Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com

ive been using autodiscover. the only thing i change is i switch users out of cached mode when creating the profile because these are virtual desktops and i want to limit i/o . i will try to reconfigure the profile and see if that helps.

Hi, Please confirm when do the prompt occur. Configure Outlook profile or open Outlook? Check whether you configure the Outlook profile manually, like check the name. And if this issue only occurs on the special computer, you can try another computer to check the issue. Thanks Allen
