This is most likely happening because you do not have a PTR associated with the ip address used to send mail on your outgoing smtp path. You should ask your ISP register a ptr record for this puiblic ip. (Normally the one on the firewall) You should also check your domain dns settings on a site such as www.dnsreport.com as this can give you some handy info. One other taks is to check the dns black list & black hole sites to make sure you are not listed on them. you can google dns black list & then check you domain status on some of the sites returned.

Hi, I've had problems with AOL in the past due to them blacklisting blocks of Public IP addresses. When you send the emails to AOL are they sitting in your outbound queue? Have you tried manually sending an email to an AOL address through the command line to see if you get any reject codes when you connect or try to submit email? There is a support section somewhere within AOL.com where you can check your status and make sure they haven't listed your IP address as a badguy. It's been over a year, so I don't remember the link. Have a poke around AOL and see what you can find. Dave

Aol was a problem with a customer of mine. Come to find out, if there is no reverse dns record for the system sending the mail to the AOL users, it probably isn't going to make it. This is an AOL policy they implemented a while back. There is a link somewhere on AOL's site that explains this. I don't have the url though, sorry.

Spamhaus should provide instructions somewhere on their site for getting off of their lists. Look on their main page for the "Remove IP Address" links. http://www.spamhaus.org/
