cannot type in body of e mail outlook 2007

Hi

firstly apologies if this is in the incorrect forum. we have a random issue which has effect a number of users throughout our company on a random basis where they cannot type in the body of the e mail, they seem to be able to type ok in the To, CC, BCC, subject but the cursor will not then go to the body of the email. it seems its caused mainly by either clicking reply or forward on an e mail and any subsequent e mail weather it be a reply,forward or a new e mail will experience the same issue ( new e mail will not populate signature. the only way to fix is to restart outlook.

things that i have tried but still does not fix the problem.

- New mail profile

 - trying to change e mail to plain txt - thought it might be a HTML rendering issue but it does not let you change to plain txt or RTF.

the environment is

Exchange 2010, outlook 2007 ( up to date with SP's), outlook is in live mode and not cached. 

any help or troubleshooting tips would be great

1) What happens if you disable all addins running in Outlook or try running Outlook in safe mode (outlook.exe /safe)? Still can you reproduce the issue?
2) Do you see the same issue when you try using with OWA(Outlook Web Access) for the above users?
3) Have you tried repairing Outlook?
4) Do you notice any event viewer logs getting added? If yes, provide me the info.

i have been doing various tests on this

 - if it happens in outlook then OWA is fine without any issues

- seems to happen on new e mail as well as replies forwards etc

- safe mode is difficult to try as it seems to be very random when it does and does not happen

work around fix without having to restart outlook is to go to tools > options change the message format from HTML to either plain or rich text. click apply and then change it back to HTML click apply and OK and it seems to work fine.

we use a hosted desktop system so the users can only log on to 1 of 3 servers and it seems to only affect one user. so it cannot be the client install. there are no events about it all and no error messages.

my next tests are  re create the normalemail.dotm ( but was created when new profile created) and move the user to a different exchange db. im not holding my breath though.

Hi All

this is still happening. every test i have done does not solve the problem.

the issue is that it happens so random. i can have days when the problem will not occur and then i can have a week when it will happen 7-10 times. 

anything else that can be done?

we do have forefront for exchange and wondered if that might be causing anything. although the issue only happen when sending e mail not receiving.
