cannot add alias to new account
a user was accidently deleted from AD. we created a new user with the same name and restored the mailbox to the new user. however, whenever the user logged in, half the time the pc would say something like " your profile is unavailable" and created a temporary profile on the desktop. without the user's documents and settings. we created a new user for this user, now user1 and copied over all her documents and settings to user1. We tried to restore the users email backups to the new mailbox, but that fails. The user can still log into the pc with user. I am trying to add the alias user@company.com to user1@company.com which i can do in exchange. however, when I try to send email to user@company.com I get the error message #550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found ## what can I do to connect the alias to the new account?

Hi, 550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found ## This error may because when you use the new mailbox(user1@company.com) , the mailbox’s legacyexchangedn will be new and cause problem when you send emails to (user@company.com). If you change the alias for mailbox (user1@company.com), you can use Alias@company.com to send emails. In Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010, you can just change mailbox’s alias in EMC. If I misunderstand your meaning, please correct me and explain your problem in detail. Thanks, Evan Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. He probably needs an X500 alias and if he provides the information I requested, I'll tell him how to fix it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
