cannot access mailbox after change of user
hello, I have just disabled a mailbox and from the disconnected mailbox associated it with another user however when I try from OWA I get : Your mailbox appears to be unavailable. Try to access it in 10 seconds and when I try from Outlook it says that I do not have permissions I tried OWA with another user and it works fine I just did this mailbox to user change 30mins ago, do I need to wait more ? usually I do not have this issue does the alias matters, or I can do it whatever I want ? Exchange server is 2010 Thanks

Hi, The problem could be caused by the permission issues. I am assuming that you try to connect the mailbox A to the user B. If you successfully connect the mailbox, you should see the User B under Exchange Management Console/Recipient/Mailbox. Please right click the user B and choose "Managed Full access" permission, then add user B himself to the full access list. Then restart Microsoft information store service and test the problem once again. What's result? Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Thanks Gen Lin-MSFT

We recently had the same issue on Exchange 2007. Explicitly adding Full Access and Send AS permission for the new user of the mailbox solved the problem with immediate effect. No need to restart the IS service (which we cannot do without going through some lengthy bureaucratic steps).MCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist

That's what I believed when we ran into this issue. But we needed it to work immediately.MCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist
