can storage group be restored to the remote location rather than local mounts?
Exchange 2007 Enterprise edition:
I am trying restore one mailbox from RSG and I would need to know if we can restore the log files for RSG on a mapped drive from another server? If yes what the pre-requisite?
We have space problem on the maintenance drive, where we generally restore the RSG from Netbackup client. So i have mapped the n/w drive from another server, pointed RSG log file
path to the mapped drive(Z:) and trying to restore the logs to a mapped drive.
But the restoration is getting failed and at the end Netbackup is showing below errors

Exchange 2007 has a database portability feature where you can basically restore data as long as you're in the same Microsoft environment.

If this is the case then i would need to troubleshoot this issue further why restoration is getting failed at the end of the Netbackup window. Netbackup is writing
the data till end of the log file size and getting failed at the end when try to paste it to the mapped drive.
Its windows server 2008 environment so please let me the access/permission requirement on each server also if any special guidelines needs be followed while restoring
to a mapped drive from Netbackup perspective?

So i have mapped the n/w drive from another server, pointed RSG log file path to the mapped drive(Z:) and trying to restore the logs to a mapped drive.
Hi Abhi28,
Do you mean you created the RSG on a mapped drive?
If yes, you cannot have an Exchange 2007 database on a mapped drive.
