can i install CDO 1.2.1 on and exchange 2007 mailbox server
Hello,
my tivoli backup client is requesting a MAPI connection to exchange in order to do a mailbox restore. I'd rather not install Outlook. Can I safely install CDO 1.2.1 on my exchange 2007 mailbox server? the OS is Windows Server 2003

Yes , you can. Keep in mind that this will not install on a system on which any version of Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or earlier is installed.------Exchange, OCS------

You can because backup exec require the CDO to be installed else it cannot open the db for brick level backup.

Hi Czaluzec,
Of course you can install Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1 on your Exchange server 2007.
And if you want to install Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI client and collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1, you should not install ExchangeMAPICdo.exe on a system which
any version of Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or earlier is installed. But you just want to install CDO 1.2.1, and the operating system is Windows server 2003, you can install the CDO 1.2.1 on your Exchange server.
The following link can provide you some preparation knowledge and you can download the installation file from it.
