can a non admin make changes to distribution groups?
hi all, is there a way I can allow a non administrator to make changes to the membership of distribution groups? Thanks

for example userA can change the which distribution group userB is a member of, and he can do this from outlook without needing to connect to exchange, and without needing to ask the network administrator / manager to do this.

my user opens the address book > then double clicks the user from the GAL > then there is a tab labelled "member of" > my user can then choose which groups the user will be a member of I just don't know what permission he has got to be able to do this

I just don't know what permission he has got to be able to do this Hi hyperNoddy, If you are running Exchange 2010, please change ManagedBy property of DG via EMC or EMS. For more information, please see: Change the Ownership of a Distribution Group http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd638201.aspx Please also read the first Note carefully. Or please see the following blog: How to Manage Groups that I already own in Exchange 2010? http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/18/3408844.aspx Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help. this is very tricky to explain the user (a domain admin user but not logged in as administrator) is able to > open the address book from outlook > then double click on a user from the list that is displayed > then a series of tabs are displayed (general, organisation, phone/notes, member of, email addresses) > member of is clicked then the user can choose which distribution group the selected user is a member of I have no idea what permission is allowing this user to do this. I need to allow another user to be able to do the exact same task. Any suggestions would be great thanks
